Le Myrobolan ou Prunier-cerise, parfois appelé Prunier myrobolan ou Myrobalan, est une espèce de plantes à fleurs de la famille des Rosaceae. C'est un arbre fruitier originaire du Sud-Est de l'Europe et du Sud-Ouest de l'Asie et qui fut introduit en Europe occidentale, comme dans de nombreux autres pays où il s’est naturalisé. C’est l’un des premiers arbres à fleurir au printemps, portant des fruits rouge foncé très décoratifs en juillet. Une variété à feuillage pourpre fut trouvée par le jardinier Ernest François Pissard en Perse, envoyée en France, elle fut décrite par le botaniste Élie-Abel Carrière, sous le nom Prunus Pissardii, ou Prunus cerasifera var. pissardii. Ce prunier d’ornement est aussi nommé en français Myrobolan à feuillage rouge, Prunier de Pissard. Ce sont des arbres d'ornement fréquents dans les jardins publics. Très rustiques, leur croissance est rapide et ils peuvent vivre de 40 à 80 ans. Le prunier myrobolan est aussi utilisé comme porte-greffe de forte vigueur et sa rusticité.
